The Dog Knows is a new service under the direction of Northern Nevada Pest Control in the Reno/Sparks area, which uses rescue dogs specially trained to detect bed bugs.

The dogs have spent many weeks learning to search with their noses to find and alert to bed bugs in all types of environments. The dog’s keen sense of smell can detect a single bug that the human eye cannot see. A single bug can turn into hundreds of bugs and a full blown infestation in less than 60 days if not located and exterminated. Our goal is to locate the bugs before they multiply to lessen the chances of significant costs due to extermination and possibly litigation.
