The Dog Knows dogs |
Most lodgings don’t want guests thinking about bedbugs. However, when it comes to hotels, bed bug claims are among the top frauds perpetrated against hotels, according to Thomas Jones, an associate professor at the University of Nevada.
Humans have a 15 to 30 percent finding rate of these bugs, depending if they are experienced. Dogs are somewhere between 90 and 96 percent accurate. The dog’s keen sense of smell can detect a single bug that the human eye cannot see. Canines are sensitive enough to find one bed bug or even one egg in a room.
A single bug can turn into hundreds of bugs and a full blown infestation in less than 60 days if not located and exterminated. Our goal is to locate the bugs before they multiply to lessen the chances of significant costs due to extermination and possibly litigation.
